One of the things I swore I was going to do was start early on these projects. I have a tendency to procrastinate so even though there's a lot that I can't do without a definite date, I wanted to start on some of the easier projects to get them out of the way.
I went to a yard sale on Saturday morning and found some really neat picture frames that I think I can use for our table numbers. I only found 6 so I'll need to look for more. I bought some white crackle paint for those and I should have a picture of them soon - they need a few more coats.
I did do a mockup of our escort card board. I found these adorable clothespins and cards at Michaels and I got a punch to decorate the edges with. I'm hoping to find some much larger picture frames and some lace for the background that I can clip the cards on to.
I also started working on coasters for the reception. I found these to be pretty cheap and easy to make and thought they would add some color to the tables if we put them at each place setting. I was able to make about 50 of them in a few hours so I'll need to find maybe one more weekend to do the rest of them. They're just ceramic tiles from the hardware store covered in scrapbook paper and modge podge. I bought felt to put on the bottom of them but I haven't added it yet. New Inspiration
Once we decided on a Spring/Summer wedding, we also decided to change our wedding colors from navy and pink to gray and pink. It felt a lot springier to me and I made a new inspiration board to celebrate the change. You'll notice that there are several elements that are the same, but some that are different.
I can't believe it's been almost 5 months since I lasted posted here. This year is flying by! I had stopped writing because our wedding planning was basically at a stand still for awhile. We were having trouble figuring out the budget and the timing. We initially wanted a fall wedding, but I soon realized that would land smack in the middle of my fall semester at a new school. I'm supposed to be transferring to a 4 year school to finish my Bachelor's degree next year and I wouldn't be able to take off the time I wanted for our wedding/honeymoon. We tossed around the idea of moving it up but were concerned about the budget. We also debated putting it off an extra year, but in the end I decided I really didn't want to wait that long. We made a decision to try for June 2013 and I am really excited that in a couple weeks we will have a definite wedding date. Next weekend we will be revisiting the venue that I've been eying for months now and hopefully booking a date! I'm also thrilled that now we can finally start planning and I can go back to posting my ideas and projects here :)

Shortly after I wrote my last post, I sat down and made a list of all the things I wanted to do/make for my wedding. Then I got overwhelmed, put the list on a shelf and decided I should leave it there until after the holidays.
Buuut now the holidays are over, and it's time for me to start working on some of my projects. I'm going to try to put the whole list up later with links to some of the places that I got my ideas from, but for now I have a few pictures to share.
I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted the invites to look like, so I did a mock-up of those. I'm still not done with the inside, and obviously I don't have enough information to finish them yet, but I'm just in love with the little lace pockets. This is what I have so far:
I also started working on pomander balls for the aisle at the ceremony. They're pretty time consuming, but I thought they turned out nice. I still have several more to make.
I finished and mailed my last bridesmaid card today, but those pictures are on my digital camera still so I'll have to put them up later. Now I'm waiting on one more response and my bridal party will be complete :)

My Inspiration
This is my inspiration board, just a collection of pictures and ideas that I like. You can probably gather that my wedding colors are navy and pink, with accents in cream and gold. I also want to incorporate some vintage style with lace and pearls.
Note: I have been collected pictures for a while now off Pinterest, The Knot, etc., so if I've used something of yours please let me know so that I can give credit. Thanks!

After much anticipation, I can now finally say that I am officially engaged. My sweet fiance proposed on the beach at the Jersey shore in (29 degree weather!) on December 10th. I am hoping this blog will serve as both my planning bio and my journal over the next 20 months or so as I countdown to the day that I will become Mrs. Hammill. We are planning a long-ish engagement and I am so glad cause I have about 18,000 crafty projects I want to complete between now and then. I will start a list a little later on so we can see just how much I've signed myself up for. Please stop by anytime to see what I'm workin' on and whether I've turned into a total bridezilla yet. Kidding about that last part, I hope.
You can also follow me on Pinterest: http://pinterest.com/kristiew17 and if you need an invite feel free to leave me your email address, I'd be glad to send one your way.
