Memorial Weekend Projects!

One of the things I swore I was going to do was start early on these projects. I have a tendency to procrastinate so even though there's a lot that I can't do without a definite date, I wanted to start on some of the easier projects to get them out of the way.

I went to a yard sale on Saturday morning and found some really neat picture frames that I think I can use for our table numbers. I only found 6 so I'll need to look for more. I bought some white crackle paint for those and I should have a picture of them soon - they need a few more coats.

I did do a mockup of our escort card board. I found these adorable clothespins and cards at Michaels and I got a punch to decorate the edges with. I'm hoping to find some much larger picture frames and some lace for the background that I can clip the cards on to.

I also started working on coasters for the reception. I found these to be pretty cheap and easy to make and thought they would add some color to the tables if we put them at each place setting. I was able to make about 50 of them in a few hours so I'll need to find maybe one more weekend to do the rest of them. They're just ceramic tiles from the hardware store covered in scrapbook paper and modge podge. I bought felt to put on the bottom of them but I haven't added it yet. The tutorial I used is here: http://www.ourlittlegems.com/2012/01/diy-tile-coasters/
